How Can Beginner and Experienced Students Benefit within the Same Class?
Yoga and its related practices are about relationships, and relationships take time to develop. Therefore, no matter what your relationship is--whether it's with your body, your mind, or your energy--being guided as a beginner or continuing on a regular basis deepens that relationship.
Within the ongoing format, the four practices (postures, breath work, meditation and relaxation) that make up the class time will be addressed. Each week there will be extra attention given to one of these practices so that no matter when you start you will feel comfortable that you are in fact learning about these things instead of it seeming like you've missed something. And as you continue to come to the classes your relationship with these practices will continue to develop and you'll get a deeper understanding of each and learn several different techniques or expression of these practices.
There are thousands of postures, numerous different meditation techniques, several breathing exercises and many ways to practice the art of relaxation. Over time you will be able to practice yoga at home and know how to choose which postures, breathing, meditation, or relaxation techniques best suit you on any given day.
People come to Yoga classes for a multitude of reasons; each person is getting something different from each class. The use of this website makes available the opportunity for additional learning as well as a means to help bring the proven beneficial qualities of the practice of yoga off the yoga mat and into your daily life.
